The 2012 Dogwood Classic – year nine!

Our annual camping rally is shaping up to be one of the funnest ’round these parts. The tomfoolery starts on Friday, May 11 at 7:00pm and ends before noon on May 13.

FYBO in Durham

This past weekend the Seven Hills Scooter Club went on the road to Durham, NC for The Incriminators Scooter Club’s 13th annual “Freeze Your Balls Off” rally. There were five of us in total – Ed, Anthony, Dwayne, Paul and Rob, traveling in one pickup truck with an enclosed trailer for the bikes.

The Incriminators planned a thorough itinerary which included drinking, eating, riding, eating, drinking, riding, eating, drinking, riding and eating [order approximate]. Like our Indian Summer Rally, the events tended to be clustered around a central area; in FYBO’s case around two of the main venues, Fullsteam Brewery and Motorco Music Hall instead of a scooter dealership.

We had a great time and plan to attend next year; club officers are considering making it mandatory with a doctor’s note the only legitimate excuse.

The Holiday Inn Express in downtown Richmond (201 East Cary Street, Richmond, VA23219).

All reservations must be received by October 21, 2011 to avail of the discounted rate of $99+tax. Please note that parking fee is $10 per night in our parking garage – that’s for a space. If you squeeze more than one bike into a space, the space still costs $10.

That’s right. The 8th year! 3 days of camping in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Fire, food, fast race, slow race, beer bungie.. wait, what?! Always a great time and you can always rent a train caboose/cabin if you don’t want to rough it.

Jeff is maximizing his use of the Deathtrap as a trophy magnet! Last fall he came back with best custom from NSP and this year he’s re-imagined the Deathtrap into yet another winner for best custom, this time at Cocoa Beach. Nice job! (insert golf clap clip here)

7 Hills SC Ceremonial Garb. New for 2011!

2011, wash over me and rinse the filth of last year off in an effort to start new.

Here we are into another year. On behalf of the officers of the club I hope everyone had a good holiday.

I’d like to first state that we are currently collecting membership dues ($30) for the new year. For anyone who would like to join or renew their membership, please contact us here for information on how to do that or come out and see us at Patrick Henry Pub & Grille Thurday nights at 7:30ish and see one of our officers (Anthony, Ed or Dwayne). Or just come and have a drink with us.

2011 is looking to be a fun year filled with lots of great and interesting rallies all up and down the coast. As a club we will try to attend a few of them (i.e. Cocoa Beach, East Coast Classic, Amerivespa..) and we’ll be hosting our annual camping rally this May, The Dogwood Classic.

A handful of us just came from Durham, NC at Freeze Your Balls Off. We had a great time with The Incriminators, Ton Up NC and all the other clubs that attended. It’s a rally we’ll always attend despite the weather. Yes, balls intact. Nice and toasty.

We’re still hosting our 1st Sunday Rides, the first Sunday of every month at Crossroads in the fan at 10am and I’m sure there will be plenty of impromptu rides here and there.

This kind of came out like a State of the Union address. I didn’t mean it to be. I just wanted to remind everyone that we’re still here and we want all motorized two-wheeled vehicles to join us in anything/everything. Day/night, good/bad weather whatever.

A big thanks to everyone who came out for our Indian Summer 5 rally! We had a great time and hope you did, too. 2011 is looking even better already. We’re working on the Dogwood Classic in May (details to come!) and are already discussing new and interesting ideas for next year’s Indian Summer.

In the meantime we have other rallies to ponder. FYBO, Cocoa Beach, Amerivespa, Lammy Jammy… Let’s get as many 7 Hills members to these events as possible. Time to represent!
